Safety First

The Waterlife Recovery Project is unable to be responsible for the health and safety of our supporters who will normally be operating in their own time, often on their own property and on their own volition.  However, interaction with American mink and mink trapping will usually be next to water and dispatching animals will involve air weapons or occasionally shotguns so there is always the potential for accidents.  We would ask everyone to take the utmost care and not to take any risks. A generic risk assessment is available to help anyone involved with the project to recognise and manage risk including when taking small tissue samples from dead mink for DNA Analysis.
